Today our varsity track team celebrated and recognized our 8th graders, along with all 8th graders across the Black Region. We also celebrated another Black Region record—set by our very own Ashton E. in the 400M with a time of 1:03!! That makes three records broken and now held by Ashton this season alone. Together they played card games, checkers, cornhole, and even tried their hand at indoor bowling. The afternoon wrapped up with a sweet treat—root beer floats and Coke floats! Residents and swimmers shared lots of laughs and stories, enjoying the chance to get to know one another better. Claire Stanton led the way for St. Helena, averaging 20+ points per game while knocking down nearly five threes per contest. A constant offensive threat, she also chipped in rebounds and assists to impact the game on both ends. Across three tough matchups, Colin McIlvaine consistently brought energy and effort on both ends of the floor, contributing key rebounds, defensive stops, and steady minutes against strong competition . His hustle, defensive presence, and willingness to do the little things set the tone and helped keep St. Helena competitive throughout the tournament.. Michael I’s latest jump for CYO. He broke his Black region record, the one he set a few weeks back, jumping 18’3” (his other 2 jumps prior were good too - 18’1” and 17’6” 😊). But the 18’3” jump qualified him to attend the New Balance Nationals competition in June. Who-hoo! An amazing feat!! Congratulations Micheal I!

The rain did not slow down the tigers at Sunday’s Region Black Championship Meet. Lots of PR’s made and hardware won! Congrats to those runners moving on to the Area 1 Championship meet on May 18th, we had about half of the team qualify for Areas, way to go!!! CYO Night at the Penn Relays was a huge success! Our tigers set goals for themselves and not only achieved them but ran PR’s across the board for all age groups 🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♂️ We are so proud of you! Congratulations to our runners: Michael I, Jason M, Billy B, Stephen M, Tatum E, Grace H, Cora S, Theresa B, Ashton E, Jackson Z, Brian M, Ryder W, Mia N, Brynn C, Ariana A, and Ava B. Another fun and exciting night at the races 🐯

17-2 win over Corpus in some windy conditions.  Team collected 14 hits with Tyler Doran and Aidan Rose each collecting 3. This brings the team to 2-0 in district play.

Our first year in Region Black for Track and field and we are already breaking records!! Congratulations to Michael Inforzato who is the new Region Black record holder (17.6ft) in the Cadet Boys Long Jump!! Way to go Michael!!! Keep jumping!!!

🏀 Congratulations to Our Basketball All-Stars! 🏀 A huge shoutout to Aidan Rose, who was selected to represent our region in the prestigious All-Star Diocese Game! With only three players chosen from each region for the AOP All-Star Game, this is an incredible achievement—well done, Aidan! We’re also proud to recognize the following athletes who were selected by their coaches and teammates to represent our school and CYO program in the Region 18/21 All-Star Game this past February: Boys Varsity: Jianluca Romano, Ryan Hillsley, Johnny Conte, Cooper Kovatch, and Aidan Rose (not pictured). Thanks to Kevin B’s dad we were able to catch our Parish Varsity Boys emerging victorious against St. Aloysius in the Holy Family Tournament, securing third place overall. The final score was 43-41, with a thrilling buzzer-beater win that concluded our season. INSANE! The team’s performance was impressive, with Kevin B scoring 20 points, Sam G scoring 9 and the game winner!! Riley B, Dean H, and Colin M scoring 4 and Dom P scoring 2. A highlight of the game was Colin’s exceptional half-court inbound pass to Sam with 1.4 seconds remaining, resulting in a winning layup. The play call was truly outstanding. FUN SEASON!!! Go 🐅 Tigers!

What an exciting weekend for our CYO basketball teams! Our regular season wrapped up, and the tournament action began. We entered with three 1st place teams and one 3rd place team—and we came out with some incredible wins! 🏀 Congratulations to our teams! 🥉 Varsity Girls – Secured an impressive 3rd place finish over St. Elenor’s! 🥉 Varsity Boys – Battled hard for a 3rd place victory over Holy Family! 🏆 JV Girls Green – Took home the 1st place title with a huge 28-11 win over our crosstown rivals, SPN! Crowning them Region 18/21 JV Girls Champions 👑 But the excitement doesn’t stop there—all three teams are now moving on to the AOP tournament! This is a huge accomplishment for our school and CYO program, and we couldn’t be prouder of our players and coaches for all their hard work this season.
